The 1920s

The 1920's was an era full of innovation and money.  Wall street grew a lot during the 1920's, and the stock market became larger and larger.  This contributed to the rich atmosphere of the 1920's.  This wealth also helped promote urban culture, with more and more people moving into large cities.  There were many innovation during the 1920's that affected peoples lives, but three really stood out.  This included the light bulb, which extended the day, the car, this allowed people to live in a larger area and get around faster, and credit, which allowed people to buy stuff even when they didn't have the money to buy it.  Not everything was good in the 1920's, during this time there were 4 million members of the Ku Klux Klan.  This was because many people thought that anyone who was not a wasp was going against American ideals.  The KKK even seized political control in 7 states and over 200 people were lynched at their hands.

  1. KKK went against all races that weren't white. They believed in the old view when white people were mostly on top and color were not accepted , been a long time since that.
