One of the presentations of the day was about the California drought. The talked about how the drought causes agricultural hardships, economic challenges, and environmental decay. If people do not start addressing this problem, they will only become worse. Then the talked about things that one could do in order to conserve water and help the drought effort. People can spend less time in the shower, turn off the faucet when they aren't using it, and fixing leaks. Other solutions could also be not watering plants as much or becoming a vegetarian.
Another presentation was about the rent control issues in Mountain View. The rent rising makes living in Mountain View difficult for a lot of people. The group said that this is bad because it decreases the amount of diversity in the Bay Area and causes people to have to leave there homes where the have made many memories. They interviewed someone who had a position in Mountain View City Council. The council member said that they were working improve the rent control issue, however, no changes will be made until 2016.
