First Semester Reflection

As we approach to the end of the 1st semester, I wanted to discuss how we all feel about the class. I for one enjoy US History a lot more than many of my other classes. One of the main reasons is that we watch documentaries as opposed to boring and tedious lectures. I'm sure we have all been in a history class at some point where the teacher would just read powerpoint slides for 45 minutes a day, and we just had to basically rewrite the entire slide. I think documentaries help keep my attention, and Mr. Stewart showing us small funny details about them prevents me from dozing off. I also enjoy the policy that work can still be turned in for full credit near the end of the quarter. This makes it much easier on students who are absent for a day of class.

  1. I may not normally enjoy history classes, however everyday I looked foreword to history class as the class made history not a subject "we students are forced to learn". Instead we got the benefit of learning about the past and how we can relate to it today.

  2. I agree that the policy that work can be turned in for full credit later is really nice. It makes life a lot easier and less stressful. I have also learned a lot this semester. My favorite parts have been learning about the civil war and 1920s.
