Muckraking Project Research

During the research for the muckraking project was when I learned the most about the inequalities many women in STEM, and women in other fields, face.  Men that work in jobs in the Silicon Valley made up to 73% more than women in 2012, based on their major.  This is very unfair, because people with the same qualifications are not being paid the same amount, most likely because of their gender.  This is what we are exploring in our Muckraking project.

  1. I totally agree with you and this has been going on for years and it still hasn't changed. Women should get paid the same amount as men do. I feel like not enough people pay attention to this topic. I would hate to have the same qualifications as someone else but not get paid as much as they do just because of my gender.

  3. After working on this project as well and doing my own research, I totally agree with you on this. The fact that 3% of the STEM industry is men is troubling because it means that women who have just as much potential to contribute to the cause are not able to put in their contributions because of stigmas and discouragement from the community.
