1990s

The images of police brutality during the 1990s were strangely similar to the ones that we see today. This brings up a very important question: why hasn't anything changed? It is really interesting to me that in about 26 years, there has been so little progress made in the issue of police brutality. I think that this really helps to calls into question the efficacy of the evaluations of police and the power that police hold against the community.

  1. I like that you brought this topic up. I think it is a very important topic. Why do you think that nothing has changed? What are ways to make progress?

  2. I agree with Daphne. This topic wasn't talked about as much as others but definitely needs to be looked at. What do you believe is the first step in creating a stronger police system than the once we have today?

  3. I agree with you. It's very interesting to see how things really haven't changed very much. It seems that we are still having the same riots they had in the 90s.

  4. This makes so much sense; and i also agree that it's extremely unjust that things like these haven't been changed. Which calls for huge reform even if we've asked for it a million times before, don't you think?

  5. I completely agree with how terrible and frustrating the lack of progress is to us as a country, especially considering all of the other advances that we have made in countless of other areas. However, in order for something to change, history almost demands for their to be a radical change or movement to defy the current circumstances that are being oppressive. So is calling upon a rebellion in this day and age, more dangerous than it is helpful with all the violence that we continually see?
